BIBLE READING: MORNING: EZEKIEL 29,30,31. EVENING: JAMES 5
TOPIC: YOU NEED OTHERS!
TEXT: “Two are better than one; because they have a good reward for their labour. For if they fall, the one will lift up his fellow: but woe to him that is alone when he falleth; for he hath not another to help him up.” Ecclesiastes 4:9-10
God didn’t create man to live as an island. Indeed, it will amount to lunacy for anybody to live alone and do all things without reference to other people. In fact, it is abnormal and totally rare for anyone to cater to all his personal needs and survive without the input of others. We are created to be dependent on each other. We work with others as a team for a common good.
One of the reasons some people feel self-sufficient is pride. A self-conceited person with ego may shun other people and ignore help when he needs it to his own detriment. We are formed to care for one another. We are here to be a blessing to someone else.
Whatever the experience you had before or the present circumstance in your life, do not allow it to rob you of being a team player. The rich must be ready to accommodate the status of the poor. The poor may fill a need in the rich man’s life. Naaman would ever be grateful to the Jewish captive girl who led him to his healing in Israel all the way from Syria. (2kings 5) The man that was sick of the palsy will forever be grateful to his four friends who defied all odds to ensure he got to Jesus and be healed. (Mark 2:3-5) You cannot do it alone!
Lord, help me to be self-conceited such that I deprive myself of help or deprive others of gaining from me in Jesus name…
