BIBLE READING: MORNING: JEREMIAH 5,6 EVENING: 1 TIMOTHY 1 rhema for living

TOPIC: LIVING ABOVE MISTAKESLIVING ABOVE MISTAKES

TEXT: “Now Sarai Abram’s wife bare him no children: and she had an handmaid, an Egyptian, whose name was Hagar. And Sarai said unto Abram, Behold now, the LORD hath restrained me from bearing: I pray thee, go in unto my maid; it may be that I may obtain children by her. And Abram hearkened to the voice of Sarai. And Sarai Abram’s wife took Hagar her maid the Egyptian, after Abram had dwelt ten years in the land of Canaan, and gave her to her husband Abram to be his wife. And he went in unto Hagar, and she conceived: and when she saw that she had conceived, her mistress was despised in her eyes.” Genesis 16:1-4.

Every mistake in life, whether major or minor, is connected to the five senses. Anyone who allows the word of God to be his sixth sense will live above mistakes. Why do people steal? It is because of what they see. Why do people commit sexual immorality? It is simply because of what they see and feel. Why would a man commit murder? It is because of what he thinks. In sum, I reiterate that every mistake is connected to the emotions. If you look carefully at the mistake Abram made, you would discover it was an emotional mistake that became a generational tragedy. It was a catastrophic and an ignoble mistake whose consequence outlived Abraham, having devastating impact upon his offspring up till this moment.
The error has become a monumental tragedy from generation to generation traceable to one man’s error who failed to have power over his emotions by not exercising sound judgment. And that tells you and me, that if I am to live a life that will be free from sorrow, a life that will not be a seed of anguish for my children, I must guard very jealously my emotions, what I see, what I hear, what I taste, what I smell, what I feel, if I can control these areas, I am sure to overcome any darts the devil may throw at me to destroy my future.

PRAYER:
My Father, My Father, as I pray, I receive fresh grace to overcome my emotions by fire…

Don’t be content. Don’t be satisfied. Stay hungry. Stay ambitious. Stay striving. Stay succeeding...
